After several months of delay, Star Wars Masterwork trading cards have finally been released! I contributed not only regular shaped sketch cards but also double and triple panel sketch cards to this set. Check out the booklets I painted for this set below!
All of my artwork for this project, except for my artist proofs, drew from the imagery of the first portion to Return of the Jedi. I dived into some of the background characters, major characters, and a few of the iconic scenes and vehicles. For my booklet cards I depicted Jabba’s sail barge, Jabba’s band, and an Imperial shuttle flying away from an Imperial Star Destroyer. I’ve seen two of these booklets pop up on ebay already but have you spotted any others?
Mediums & More Examples
For mediums I painted the majority of the cards with an acryla gouache. I few others I used traditional gouache and on two of the panel cards I used pen and copic markers as the paper on the booklets was different than the regular sketch cards.
Above you can see some of the regular shaped sketch cards I painted for this set. The Rancor, Jabba, and Jabba’s food vase were all painted in acryla gouache while the other two were done in traditional gouache.
Artist Proof Sketch Cards
I’ve sold all but my Luke Skywalker AP sketch card from this project but I do have more Star Wars projects coming up! I also have some artist proofs available from other sets and they start at $125US each. Use the form below to ask which APs I have available.
Above are three of my artist proofs and currently the Luke is still available for $150US.
